FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

Greetings in the name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Look at what our God has done!

Forty one years of proclaiming the Gospel. Forty years of winning souls for Christ. Forty one years of ministering to the needs of the people of Roselle and the surrounding communities. Forty one years of baby dedications. Forty one years of weddings and funerals. Forty one years of counseling families in crisis. Forty one years of doing missions. Forty one years of teaching the word. Forty one years of praying for the sick. Forty one years of praying for our leaders and families. Forty one years of worship and praise unto our God! Forty one years of being the salt of the earth and the light of the world! What a tremendous journey!

I think the songwriter said it best, “We’ve come this far by faith leaning on the Lord, Trusting in His holy word, and He’s never failed me (us) yet. Oh___can’t turn around; we’ve come this far by faith.”

As I ponder the changes in the eight years that I have had the privilege to serve as pastor,  we have funeralized some faithful members, such as Virginia Alston, Jessie Manning and John Robeson  to name a few. These Christian warriors were faithful unto death and they have passed the baton to us. Though we have many challenges ahead as we continue to serve this present age, I am confident that God shall give us the victory! Jesus said in Matthew 16:18 (KJV) “… That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

Let me take this opportunity to thank every member for your countless selfless acts of love as we have come together to do ministry in the name of Jesus. I also want to thank our friends who have come to give support and encouragement as we pause to celebrate what God has already done! So to all my Father’s children I say, Let Us Rejoice! For 1 John 3:2 (KJV) says, “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”

And now may the love of God keep you, the peace of God calm you and may the joy of God illumine your path,

Yours in His Service,

Reverend David Ford Sr., Pastor
